Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun Ban Tankers From Using Over Head Bridges
“Tankers are not allowed to use over head bridge all accross Ogun State since tankers driver don’t have the ability to control their vehicles, which is dangerous to the users of the road and the citizens”.
Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun announced this decision during his assessment visit to the scene of tanker explosion, which occurred on Monday in Abeokuta, claiming three lives with many others injured.
According to him, the ban is meant for the safety of lives and properties of the citizens. The governor also promised to arrest and punish any tanker drivers found on the bridge as bridges has banned for them.
The governor himself confirmed the death of three persons while six Others sustained injuries.
He said the injured, who were really burnt, had been taken to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Idi-Aba, and the state Hospital, Ijaye Abeokuta.

The specialists have arrived in Abeokuta. They will decide whether we are to transfer those with burns to burn centre in Lagos.
“I will debate with the State Ministry of Transportation, and we will start the enforcement straight away to make sure tankers plying our roads are well fit to see if they are good for road or not.
