UNILAG: NASU states function on indefinite strike

The Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities, NASU, University of Lagos bankruptcy, has stated that there may be no going back at the indefinite strike it embarked upon until their needs are met by means of the Federal government.

Recollect that NASU and the Senior team of workers affiliation of Nigeria Universities (SSANU), had on Jan. 12, embarked on a nationwide protest over government’s failure to honour its settlement.

Mr Kehinde Ajibade, Chairman, UNILAG NASU, who made this known to journalists on Friday nighttime stated the union is ready to withstand any form of intimidation to resume paintings till their demands had been met.

”today, we received a directive from the national headquarters of our union to embark on an indefinite strike, starting from Feb.5.

”And the premise of this strike are numerous. The Federal authorities signed a Memorandum of expertise (MoU), with our unions, NASU and SSANU in 2020.

”This MoU became signed at the agreement that every one that become contained therein could be attended to, on or earlier than Dec. 31, 2020, however up until these days, not anything has been accomplished.

”some of the reasons behind this action are problems of inconsistencies in the IPPIS, the charge platform for college employees and a variety of others.
